always learning, always growing
My yogic journey has taken several twists, turns, and inversions over the last 17 years, but once I began to dedicate my time and energy to the practices, my path to sharing yoga became clear.
Through yoga, I feel a sense of empowerment, playfulness, and strength of mind, body, and spirit. My goal is to help students find their own inner and outer strength, as well as experience the wonderful community that yoga can bring. I put in the work every class to ensure my students feel welcome and supported, no matter what. Yoga is for EVERY body, and the only thing you need is a willingness to step onto the mat and meet yourself.
I received my 200 hour certification in the Raja Yoga lineage at Yoga Community of Sonoma in 2015. Raja Yoga, or “Royal” yoga, is also referred to as the Eight-Limbed Path of Yoga:
“[Raja Yoga] is an integral approach. It does not simply advocate meditation, but takes into consideration the entire life of a person. Its philosophy is scientific. It welcomes and in fact demands experimental verification by the student. Its ultimate aim is to bring about a thorough transformation of the individual who practices it sincerely.” — Sri Swami Satchidananda
In 2020, I completed a 300 Hour Hatha training with Full Circle Yoga. A student, first and foremost, I am always looking to expand my knowledge and am grateful to the many teachers and students that offer me opportunities to learn, daily. Sometimes the path has seemed quite linear and other times a chance encounter has brought me to something wonderful.
My 200 hour training instilled a deep love for Yoga Nidra, and led me to obtain multiple certifications in this beautiful, sacred form of meditation, from teachers Ashley Sharp, and Kaya Mindlin. An anatomy workshop led me to begin studying Yin Yoga, with teachers Paul Grilley, and Nina Chin.
Several years ago, I subbed last-minute a class for a meditation teacher, psychotherapist, and Reiki Master, Joni Dittrich (Rajashree); eventually I began to study underneath her and am now a Reiki Master.
Currently, I teach Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, and Restorative classes throughout Napa and Sonoma, and offer Yoga Nidra workshops several times throughout the year. I am registered with the Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT200, RYT500, and YACEP (Continuing Education Provider).
